One of the best teachers I ever had was Mrs. Parks, my third-grade teacher. She read books to us during class and helped to build my love of reading. She read us the Bridge to Terabithia, which is one of my all-time favorite books.

What do you miss about childhood?

I miss the proximity of family and friends. My best friend is no longer around the corner and immediate family is no longer in the same city.

When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was young.

What is on the top of your "bucket list"?

I want to visit Alaska for at least a month.
